Of course I named the show after the great album by the Smittens and I pay homage to the band by using a clip of their song 11:11 for my theme. I hope the band doesn't mind, but when I have talked to various members of the band after shows they seem like nice people whom I think would be good with it.

I also use this name for my DJ night happening occasionally at the Jane Bond in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Note that the links to shows older than 6 months might not be working, if you really want those shows please send me an email and I can get them to you. (Note that prior to 2018 I called my podcast FireballXL5, so don't be confused if you look at an old setlist)

Special thanks to Jeff Woods for finding my a place to host my mp3s!

It seems that I got a lot of ideas for this show my new favourite twitter feed from Indie Pop Saved My Life ( @indiepopSML  and see the link to their facebook page below).  They are always posting about great up and coming as well as established indie pop artists.  Those songs made up a lot of the first two sets and then I ended off the show with some funky songs that I've had around for along time

Best song I heard since the last show - The Short Stories - Are You Listening Now? - Here the song here http://theshortstories.bandcamp.com/album/are-you-listening-now-ep

In a rare move I started out with an electro/funky set which started with my top song of the week, a band that played Osheaga that I didn't know about at the time I went to the festival.  I also got to play a song by a band with one of the best names out there "Throw That Beat In The Garbagecan!" , the song is also pretty good.

For the first time this year I went to the Osheaga festival in Montreal, I had heard about it for many years and it was great, I would recommend it to anyone.  I did a lot of talking during the show to recap all my impressions of the festival.  I couldn't play all the bands that played, but touched on most of the ones that I saw which impressed me.

After the last show on the NYCPopfest I had lots of great indie pop that I had to get through.  In particular The Projections were a great find when I was doing some research on former members of The Pipettes.  The start of the second set were a couple of songs that easily could have been my top song and then I ended with more of an electro pop set.

Best song I heard since the last show - Persian Rugs - Always All http://vimeo.com/27772149

May 17, 2013

The first set stuck to the indie pop while the second was a bit on the more rocking end of the spectrum, starting with a great song by a band with a great name "The All Girl Summer Fun Band" and their song Car Trouble (see the link to video below).  The last set got some electro-pop out my system.
