Of course I named the show after the great album by the Smittens and I pay homage to the band by using a clip of their song 11:11 for my theme. I hope the band doesn't mind, but when I have talked to various members of the band after shows they seem like nice people whom I think would be good with it.

I also use this name for my DJ night happening occasionally at the Jane Bond in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Note that the links to shows older than 6 months might not be working, if you really want those shows please send me an email and I can get them to you. (Note that prior to 2018 I called my podcast FireballXL5, so don't be confused if you look at an old setlist)

Special thanks to Jeff Woods for finding my a place to host my mp3s!

December 3, 1999

My day Friday December 3:

2:00 pm - get e-mail from Charlene about doing show that day
3:00 pm - call Charlene to confirm details
5:55 pm - prepare for show
6:00 pm - on air

As you can see above there wasn't much preparation time for this week's show,
but that was OK as there were tons of new stuff considering Michelle and I
missed our latest regular slot (Thanks for Heather and Trevor for filling
in). When we got to the station as usual there was nobody there, however by the
end it was like Grand Central Station; people were coming and going with stuff
happening in both the other studios, people moving drum sets, cars coming and
going, even Heather and Trevor were there to tape another show and they came
on for one talking segment.

We are on again this Friday December 10, as this will be the last time we will
be on before the 25th and I am totally unoriginal this will count as the
Christmas show, send along any suggestions we actually have a pretty large
collection of Xmas music at the station.

There are so many stories about the music this show:

The Rheostatics songs is from a just released children's album and accompanying
book that has been two years in the making, one of the songs was written by
Gord Downie of the Tragically Hip.

Tony Clifton is the nightclub singer character of Andy Kaufman from the
soundtrack to Man on the Moon

The Zamboni's song was of course dedicated to Jimmy 'Iceman' MacNeil
of the Brantford Civic Centre who easily won the Zamboni driver of the Year
with a stunning 177,556 votes (second was Al Sobotka with 97,261). Complete
results available at www.zamboni.com.

Michelle went to see Momus/Kahimi Karie/Toog at the Jane Bond Cafe while I
was in Edmonton, she said Momus sang rude and vulgar songs and she was most
impressed by the French (?) singer Toog.

I ended off with the Flying Bulgar Klezmar Band as Chanukah started at sunset.
