Of course I named the show after the great album by the Smittens and I pay homage to the band by using a clip of their song 11:11 for my theme. I hope the band doesn't mind, but when I have talked to various members of the band after shows they seem like nice people whom I think would be good with it.

I also use this name for my DJ night happening occasionally at the Jane Bond in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Note that the links to shows older than 6 months might not be working, if you really want those shows please send me an email and I can get them to you. (Note that prior to 2018 I called my podcast FireballXL5, so don't be confused if you look at an old setlist)

Special thanks to Jeff Woods for finding my a place to host my mp3s!

We made good on the new music theme as apart from the leap year set every
album we played (except for 2) was from the recent release section of the
music library (this section contains albums that have come to the station
in the last 90 days). Can you pick the two albums that weren't - answers
at the bottom).

After the show on March 9 Michelle and I are heading down to the Boathouse
Tearoom at Victoria Park to hear Pat Skinner and Friends play, I recommend
that everyone who can make to come on down.

For this week's show, March 9 is being recognized as the 300th anniversary
of the invention of the piano and so far nobody has used it to make a
decent song, just kidding, but if you want to prove me wrong send me you
favourite song that prominently features this ubiquitous instrument.

re-mixes, I heard a few more selections on CKMS, went out and
bought it last weekend, I love it, it's Norman Cook (aka Fatboy
Slim) remixing some great songs. The packaging is wierd as some
remixes are credited to Norman Cook and others to Fatboy Slim?

Songs not from the new release section:

Tanya Donnelley - Pretty Deep
Colour Me Psycho - Black Corvair
(The Violent Femmes and Peter Murphy were from Greatest Hits albums)

It was a crazy day this radio show in a nutshell: I had everything
planned out to do the Valentine's day show. I was snow surveying
about 50 km north of Waterloo all day, but I was done at 5:00 pm
so I figured I could make it to the station by 5:40 pm, however
about half way to Waterloo the Civil Engineering van kept going
slower and slower and eventually stopped and wouldn't go no
more. I decide to ditch the van and hitch hike (something
I've never done before), after about 15 cars passed by a van stops
from the University of Waterlo Earch Science department. It turns
out to be the Waterloo Alpine Ski team coming back from a meet.
They start driving me home and at 6:00 I tell them to turn on the
radio because I was supposed to be on, we hear Michelle start
the show (which she has never done before) and the driver says
"Man, we have to get you to that radio station". So not only do
they drive me to the University they bring me right to the station,
I also made the observation that with the 9 people in the van
listening it was the most people to ever hear the show and I
wasn't even on it. Overall, I was very very lucky.

Well both Michelle and I were too wired to really care about the
show after that so we did our best to finish the show with the
Valentine's day theme. To add to the confusion we got about 6 or
7 phone calls during the show, many more than usual.

I'm going to try and concentrate on music from the new release
section of library this week because I feel that I have been
looking in the past too much these last few shows. However I
am trying to put together any songs related to February 29
(leap day), any ideas?

I also am ready to start shipping the Best of 1999 CD, so if you
are outside of K-W and I don't have your address please send
it along to me.

(This is way off topic, but I have come across this free tax
preparation program called cooltax. I have used it the last
three years and have been quite impressed by it, you can
download it at www.cooltax.com)
