It was a cold day on January 14th, and almost as cold in the station
as the furnace wasn't working, there were a couple of space heaters
around but they just took the edge off. We played a selection of songs
from both of our best of 1999 singles and album lists, if you want
to see our lists you can check them out at the Fireball XL5 homepage
at: www.civil.uwaterloo.ca/frseglen/archive/best_of_1999.htm
Also, since the last mailout we have had a winner in the Y2K Hype
contest: Although Cath had a strong start in the first half of the
contest (she got 4 points for being one day away from December 10)
Steven correctly guessed that January 12 would be the first
day that Y2K would not be mentioned in the National Post gaining
5 points and the victory (By the way January 12 is still the only
day without a mention so far in January).
This week's show is the best of the 1990s hopefully there will be
heat at the station.

The Coolest Thing About Love is the name of an indie-pop podcast hosted by Frank Seglenieks. I play alternative music that usually classified as indie-pop with the occasional feature on a particular artist or theme as I have been known to veer in soul and funk. I start off each show with the best song that I have heard since the last show and end with a random songs pulled from my song library.
Of course I named the show after the great album by the Smittens and I pay homage to the band by using a clip of their song 11:11 for my theme. I hope the band doesn't mind, but when I have talked to various members of the band after shows they seem like nice people whom I think would be good with it.
I also use this name for my DJ night happening occasionally at the Jane Bond in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
Note that the links to shows older than 6 months might not be working, if you really want those shows please send me an email and I can get them to you. (Note that prior to 2018 I called my podcast FireballXL5, so don't be confused if you look at an old setlist)
Special thanks to Jeff Woods for finding my a place to host my mp3s!
